For referrers

Referring someone to yoga.

Information for doctors, allied-health professionals, social workers and support workers. If you think someone might do well with a calm, unhurried, choice-led yoga practice, you're welcome to point them my way—here's how it works, and where the boundaries sit.

This is a yoga practice, not a medical or clinical service. I don't diagnose, treat, rehabilitate or provide therapy, and referring someone doesn't place them under my clinical care—they stay under yours. Yoga here is offered as ordinary movement, rest, attention and gentle awareness of breathing, not as a treatment for any condition.

Who it may suit

Described plainly, so you can judge the fit.

Rather than claim outcomes, here is simply what sessions are like—so you can decide whether they suit the person in front of you.

Unhurried and predictable

A slow, steady pace. What comes next is always described first, and nothing is sprung on anyone.

Entirely opt-in

Every practice is an offer with alternatives, including rest and simply observing. People can pause or stop at any time.

Nothing to disclose

No hands-on adjustments, no personal questions, no requirement to explain oneself. People take part without performing.

How to refer

Three steps, no paperwork from you.

1Ask the person first

With their agreement, either pass them my details to enquire themselves, or send an enquiry on their behalf with their consent.

2Keep it brief

No clinical notes, histories or diagnoses—please don't send them. A sentence on what the person is hoping for is all that's useful.

3We confirm fit

I have a short conversation with the person to confirm the practice suits them, then arrange a first session directly with them.

Referring a young person

For anyone under 18, referrals proceed only with a parent or guardian's consent, and—for one-to-one sessions—with a responsible adult present. Group work with young people runs through a commissioning organisation. The full scope of practice sets out these boundaries.

Privacy

No health information, kept to a minimum.

Enquiries are held in ordinary email and used only to arrange sessions. I don't collect or want diagnoses, clinical records or case notes—if a referral includes them, they won't be recorded or used. Full detail is in the privacy statement.

Refer someone, or ask a question.

Not sure whether it's a fit? An enquiry is the easiest way to talk it through—no commitment either way.
